Well, I decided to sell my boat. It is my dream boat.
Not an easy decision to make. Ugghh… here we go.
$33,000 cdn (24,500 USD)
half the price of new, in “like new” condition
It is a Harbercraft 1875 Extreme Shallow. (now sold as Kingfisher) It can go for miles on as little as 3 inches of water at speeds up to 39 miles per hour (videos below).
I bought the boat at the end of 2011. I used it in 2012 and 2013, but then photography and storm chasing season took over, which overlaps with jet boating season. Photography and Storm Chasing won. I haven’t even fished in 3 years.
In 2014 I said that if I did not use it in 2015 I would sell it. It turns out I did not have the heart to do it that year.
At the end of 2015 I said the same thing about 2016… and well here we are. I’m doing this!
The boat is in great condition. I’d estimate it has 20 hours on it. It is a 2008 model that was being sold out of an Alberta Yamaha dealership, The dealership folded, a North Battleford dealership bought much of their stock. They sold mostly lund type fishing boats, the boats sat in the back of the lot until 2011 when both were advertised on the internet. I scooped up the black one as quickly as I saw it.
It is the boat I had always wanted. It is absolutely perfect for the river. Low maintenance, very hassle free.
This boat has the 160 hp yamaha jmax engine. These engines have a very good reputation and they deserve it. Great on fuel. The boat holds 35 gallons of fuel which allows you to go 100-200 miles (160-320 kms) on on tank of gas (depending on speed). I once boated from Lemsford Ferry Crossing, to the Alberta border and back… at top speed – something very few other jet boats could manage one one tank of fuel.
Jet boats famously do not like the weeds, but if you do run this boat into the weeds or take it over exposed gravel (these boats will slide over exposed sand and gravel bars if you need them to), it has a stomp grate that allows you to clear the intake very easily.
Included with the boat are – The trailer, A custom made boat cover, Lawrance Fishfinder, 20 lb anchor with rope, Boating safety kit
